The Parish of St. James's, westminster.
Reverend Sir, My Lord, and Gentlemen,
I have great pleasure in laying before you my
eighteenth annual Report to be able to state to
you that it is equally favourable with that of last
year, and that I have comparatively little beside to
which to call your attention.
General Mortality of the Parish in 1873.
The total number of deaths registered during the
year 1873 by the Registrars of the Parish, in
quarters, were as follows:—
First Quarter 131
Second Quarter 142
Third Quarter 162
Fourth Quarter 251

This death rate must, however, be diminished
by the returns of deaths in the Workhouse, of
persons who have been brought into the Parish
