These tables show that the saved life in 1871
over 1869 and 1870 was chiefly in infant life. The
only group of ages in which there was an excess of
death is in the lives above the age of forty.
Death in the Workhouse.
In estimating the death rate of the different
districts of the Parish, it becomes important to
separate the deaths in the Workhouse and others
for two reasons: first, that it contains residents
