No 5 District.— The rest of the Parish comprising the whole of the Docks and the portion
of the Parish which lies on the east side of the Lower Road from the main entrance of the Surrey
Commercial Docks to the southern boundary of the Parish with Deptford:
With Polling Stations as under:—
No. 2 District.— Albion Street Board School.
No. 3 ,, Dartmouth Road Board School.
No. 4 „ Silver Street Chapel.
No. 5 ,, Gomm Schools, Plough Road.
(N.B.— No. 1 District comprises the Parishes of St. Olave, St. John, and St. Thomas,
Southwark, and Nos. 6 and 7 Districts comprise the No. 4 Ward of the Parish of Bermondsey.)
Rights of Way.
The Vestry have Resolved—That the public rights of way in the Parish be cleansed by the
flushers in their employ.
Complaint having been made by Messrs. Weston & Westall, the occupiers of Naylor's
Wharf, as to the offensive condition of the right of way at the side of the said wharf,
The Vestry instructed the Surveyor of Pavements to have the said right of way put in a
thorough sanitary condition.
Complaint having been received from Messrs, Burt, Boulton & Haywood of a nuisance
caused by boys trespassing over the 10-feet way on to their wharf, and smoking, thereby causing
great danger of fire,
The Vestry Resolved—That the gates at the right of way, "White Horse" P.H., and
Laystall be raised 5-feet, the gates to be new and erected by the carpenter in the employ of the
Vestry.
Mortuary.
The Mortuary accommodation was still under the consideration of the Vestry at the close of
the year.
