The Vestry have under consideration the question of providing better urinal accommodation
in the immediate neighbourhood of the "Princess Victoria" P.H., Lower Road.
The Vestry have Resolved—That upon the owner of any house or premises where there is
a choked closet or drain, failing to clear same within 24 hours after service of notice upon him to
do so, the clearance of such closet or drain be executed by the Flushers in the employ of the
Vestry, and the cost thereof charged to such owner.
The Vestry have Resolved—That the Sewers and Drainage Works, previously contracted
for, be carried out by the Vestry's own workmen from 25th March, 1894.
The wages of W. Leary, Flusher's Labourer, have been increased from 15s. to £1 per week.
A new gulley has been provided in Sarah's Place, Swan Lane, by the Vestry's Contractor.
Paving Works.
The following materials have been used during the year:—
Broken Guernsey Granite 272 cubic yards.
Do. 660 cubic yards.
Broken Stone 874 loads.
Tooled York 6182 feet of 2^-inch.
Victoria Stone 2820 feet.
Kerb 2000 feet of 6-inch.
Adam Street has been kerbed with new Granite Kerb on both sides throughout the whole
length of the street, the channelling redressed and relaid, and footways taken up, squared and
relaid, new 6tone being used where necessary, and the footway on the north side being widened
by 6 inches. The carriageway has also been made up with loose macadam and rolled.
The carriageway and footways, Cathay Street, from Rotherhithe Street to Paradise Street,
have been taken up and relaid.
