The Council will be glad to be informed of the decision of your Vestry in this
matter.
I am, Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
(Signed) ALFRED SPENCER.
This communication was read by the Clerk at the Vestry Meeting next following
its receipt. It was proposed and carried—
" That the future Reports of the Medical Officer of Health, in accordance with
the wish of the London County Council, be made up to December 31st in
each year."
There is one matter named in the letter which your Medical Officer of Health has
not been able to carry out, i.e., make his Report a " uniform statistical Report,'' as neither
the London County Council nor the Local Government Board has prepared a uniform
scheme or plan on which Annual Reports should be based. Until this plan is formulated,
and sent to the Medical Officers of Health, no uniformity can be secured. There would
be many advantages in having such uniformity of action; and, no doubt, as the matter
has been mooted, it will ultimately be carried out.
