The whole cost of such paving has been apportioned amongst the Owners of
property in the said streets, payment thereof (when required by the Owners) being
taken by three instalments, viz.: one half the amount forthwith, one fourth in six
months, and the remaining one fourth in twelve months from the commencement of the
work.
The footway Rotherhithe New Road, at Alexandra Cottages and Elizabeth Place,
has been flagged under contract with Mr. G. G. Ruttv, at a cost of £119 10s. 0d.
The portion of Midway Place situate in this parish has been made up, curbed
and flagged. The School Hoard for London and the Owner of the house at the corner
of the said place, having contributed towards the cost of such paving.
The footways of Debnam's Road have been curbed and paved under a contract
with Mr. Thomas Turner, for the sum of £135 0s. 0d. which has been apportioned for
pa\ment amongst the occupiers of the houses in and abutting upon the said road.
Paving Jobbing Works.
Mr. George Gammon Rutty is the Contractor for the Paving Jobbing Works,
at a schedule of prices. (For particulars of contract see page 9.)
Lighting.
Ten additional Gas Lamps have been set up and lighted during the past year,
viz.:— 1 in Rotherhithe New Road, 2 in Warndon Street, 1 in Silverlock Street, 2
in Westlake Road, 3 in Oldfield Road, and 1 in Silwood Street, making the total
number of Lamps in the parish, lighted by the Surrey Consumers' Gas Company, 415.
