REPORT, 1892-93.
91
This was done in July, 1892, and the various Companies
were granted six months to furnish plans and
records of existing wires from that date, and one
month with respect to all new wires; but owing to
the difficulty in obtaining exact plans and records of
the numerous wires running in all directions over the
Parish and London generally, the London County
Council extended the time until the end of the year
1893, at which date they consider the various Companies
will have had ample time to comply with the
requirements of the said By-laws.
Electric Lighting.
The Metropolitan Electric Supply Company
Limited, have now their station at Amberley Road in
full working order, and up to Lady-day there were
about 258 customers in the Parish supplied with the
electric current.
Workmen's Wages.
Considerable time and attention has been given
during the year by the Works Committee to the
repeated applications from Secretaries belonging to
"Trades' Unions," and from some of the Vestry's
employes, for increased wages. The Committee fully
reported on this subject in September last, and in
order that such report may be in the hands of each
member for ready reference at any time, I have
included a copy of the same with my Annual Report.
