REPORT, 1892-93.
71
The side entrance to sewer in Lanhill Road has
been reconstructed so as to allow a new carriageway
entrance to be formed to Messrs. Welford's Dairy
Premises. The expense of so doing, £25 9s. 8d., has
been defrayed by Messrs. Welford.
In consequence of frequent complaints to the
Vestry by occupiers of stables and others interested in
the property in Upper Brook Mews, as to the insanitary
condition of the brick sewer there, the Vestry
instructed me to fix an Automatic flushing tank at the
North end of such sewer, to discharge twice daily for
the purpose of flushing and cleansing the same. This
work has been carried out, and is now effectually
keeping the sewer in a cleanly condition.
Special Repairs to Old Servers.
Continued improvements to the old flat-bottomed
and defective sewers, in the undermentioned streets
of the Parish, have been carried out during the
vear. viz.:—
