BOROUGH OF PADDINGTON.
XXII.—Coroner's Court and Mortuary.
The question of the inadequate accommodation
for holding inquests in Paddington formed the
subject of a communication from the London County
Council, and was referred to a Joint Committee of
the Works and Sanitary Committees, who have
expressed an opinion which has been adopted by the
Vestry that the existing Mortuary meets the present
requirements of the Parish, and that it is most
undesirable that the Yestry should take steps for
providing a Coroner's Court, such duty devolving
upon the London County Council. The Committee
advised that such accommodation, when secured,
should be as near as possible to the existing
Mortuary, or St. Mary's Hospital.
XXIII.—Assessment Appeals.
The appeal of the National Telephone Company
has been settled by a reduction of £50 on the rateable
value.
The Appeal of the Metropolitan Railway Company
was settled in favour of the Yestry, with costs.
XXIV.—Canals.
At the instigation of the Vestry of Marylebone,
