In the Public Institutions in the Parish there were
610 deaths, viz., 53 in the Workhouse, 183 in the
Paddington Infirmary, 12 in the Children's Hospital,
355 in St. Mary's Hospital, and 7 in the Lock
Hospital.
The 53 deaths in the Workhouse—13 males and
40 females, and the 183 deaths in the Paddington
Infirmary—90 males and 93 females—being regarded
as those of parishioners, are included in the 1,632
deaths in St. Mary's Sub-district; 255 of the deaths
in St. Mary's Hospital, 10 of the deaths in the
Children's Hospital, and the 7 deaths in the Lock
Hospital, were of non-parishioners, and are therefore
not dealt with in this Report.
The following table shows the ratio of deaths to
the population, together with the death-rate per 1,000
of the population of the parish and of its two Subdistricts:—
