The sum of £238 2s. has been expended in constructing
new and repairing old gulleys in Queen's
Road during the laying of the wood paving there, so
that the levels of roadway and channels have been
improved.
Complaint was made to the Sanitary and Public
Health Committee by the owner of No. 76, Queen's
Road, that the portion of the 9-in. pipe sewer passing
under the basement of his premises from Inverness
Mews to Queens Road sewer, was in a leaky and
insanitary condition, and caused considerable injury
to his property. An examination was made by the
Sanitary Inspector and the drain found in the condition
as stated. The Vestry then ordered that the
defective pipes should be taken up, and new pipes
embedded in concrete be laid through the premises,
and that the necessary works be carried out forthwith
at the cost of the Vestry. This was done at an expense
of £45 4s. 7d.
The Vestry of Marylebone having applied to the
London County Council, and received their sanction
to lay a 12" pipe-drain from St. John's Wood Road
into the Sewer in Maida Vale, which is under the
jurisdiction of this Vestry, the same was constructed
at a cost of £18 8s. 6d. to the Marylebone Authorities.
The works carried out as comprised in the ordinary
Sewers Jobbing Works consisted in fixing three
hundred and twenty-nine stoneware block flap-traps
