trains and lighting the station, also for the storage of
their rolling stock; this will create an extensive
manufacturing establishment near to very valuable
property.
London Central (Subway) Railway.
The proposed railway will commence at the East
end of Shepherd's Bush Common, passing under
Uxbridge Road and Oxford Street, it will be an up
and down line in separate tunnels, or covered way,
10-feet in height, by 8-feet in width. These tunnels
will be nearly parallel to the surface of the roadway,
the rail level being at a depth of about 12-feet 8-in.
from the surface of Roadway.
Kensington & Paddington (Subway) Railway.
This railway is proposed to commence in Alfred
Place West, in the Parish of Kensington, in separate
tunnels, or covered ways, 10-feet in height and 8-feet
in width, crossing Kensington Gardens, passing under
the Uxbridge Road, by Kensington Gardens Terrace,
under Grand Junction Road, and terminating near
Conduit Place and London Street. The rail level
under Kensington Gardens will be about 13-feet, and
under the Uxbridge Road about 33-feet, thus running
immediately across the Middle Level Sewer.
