New Buildings.
During the year the Vestry have received notices
for the erection of one hundred and fifteen houses,
also for the erection of large stable buildings in
Lanhill Koad, on the premises of Messrs. Welford and
Cu., and stabling in the rear of the " Swan" publichouse,
in the liayswater Koad. These noticcs were
required in accordance with the 7Gth Section of the
Metropolis Local Management Act, 1855. Plans
shewing the proposed drainage of the buildings have
also been received, and the Vestry passed orders with
reference thereto ; and copies of such orders have
been served upon the parties concerned.
The lineal extent of stoneware pipes required to
drain the above-mentioned buildings, as shewn 011
submitted plans, is about 4,268 yards. These drains
are tested with water by the Vestry's officials prior to
the trenches being filled in, and, if found satisfactory,
are passed in the usual manner.
