LIGHTING.
For 14 years the Average Meter System has been
in operation, and experience has proved its efficiency
and economy, also that the system is the most reliable
and equitable method of purchasing gas for Public
Street Lighting purposes.
There are now 1,959 lamps, each estimated to
consume 4.6 cubic feet of gas per hour. The actual
consumption per hour for the year has been 5,252 cubic
feet; each lamp has burnt 3,790¾ hours, or an average
