During the 13 weeks ending April 2nd, 1887, being the
first quarter of the registration year, 765 births and 578 deaths
were registered in Paddington. Of the 765 births, comprising
382 male and 383 female children, 644 occurred in St. Marys,
and 121 in St. John's Sub.district. The 765 births were equivalent
to an annual rate of 27.0 per 1,000 of the estimated
population of the parish. In London the births were equal to
an annual rate of 32.8 per 1,000,
