The ratio of births to the entire population of the
Parish was 1 to every 39 inhabitants, or 25.6 per 1,000
persons of all ages.
In St. Mary's Sub-district the ratio of births to the
population was 1 to every 32 persons living, or 31.0
per 1,000.
In St. John's the ratio of births to population was
1 to 69, or 14.4 per 1,000 inhabitants.

Deaths.
As already stated, 2,065 deaths were registered in
Paddington. But of these, 237—194 in St. Mary's
Hospital, 38 in the Children's Hospital, and 5 in the
Lock Hospital—were of non-parishioners, and are
therefore not dealt with in this Report.
Deducting these it will be seen that 1,828 parishioners
actually died in Paddington. To this number
(1,828) must be added the deaths within the year of 81
