The corrccted number of deaths in the parish from all
causes during the corresponding: quarters of the years 18771S82

In the public institutions in the parish there were 105
deaths, viz., 33 in the Workhouse and 72 in St. Mary's
Hospital. There were no deaths in the Lock Hospital. The
33 deaths in the Workhouse,—18 males and 15 females,—
being regarded as those of parishioners, are included in the
309 deaths in St. Mary's Sub-district. Of the 72 deaths in
St. Mary's Hospital, 52 were of non-parishioners, and are
therefore not dealt with in this report.

The number of births and of deaths, together with the birth and death rates in the parish and in its two sub-districts, during the quarter, is shown in the subjoined table :—

Of the 434 deaths, 96 were of infants under 1 year of age,
139 of children under 5 years, and 95 of persons aged 65
years and upwards.
