Twelve Crossings of Streets have been paved with
the best description of Granite Cubes.
Eight New Streets, or portions thereof, have been
formed and paved by the Vestry under the powers of
"The Metropolis Management Acts" at the cost of
Owners of Houses and Land bounding or abutting
on such Streets.
Additional Streets have been completed by Owners
of property at their expense, and to my satisfaction,
and afterwards cleansed, watered and repaired at the
cost of the Vestry, which, with the previous number,
make 40 miles 3 furlongs 184 yards at the present
time under the control of the Vestry.
The Streets have been opened in 2318 places by
Gas and Water Companies, and other parties, for the
purpose of laying and repairing pipes, and effecting
alterations and additions to Houses and Stables.
Lighting.
Thirty-nine additional Lamps have been erected in
different parts of the Parish, making a total of 1614.
Fifteen Lamps have been removed to new positions,
in order to improve the lighting of several Streets,
and to accord with the footways in such places as
required widening.
