bodies to a Public Mortuary or Dead-House, I

The Workshops Regulation Act.
This Act, the provisions of which it is the duty
of all Local Authorities to enforce, is intended
principally to inspect the shops and regulate the
hours of labour of women and young persons employed
in premises not included under the Factory
Act. It came into operation on 1st January last. An
abstract of the Act has been prepared for general
circulation; and inspection will follow as soon as a
list of trades and places to which the Act applies
are made out.
Water Supply.
Professor Frankland and Dr. Letheby have
made monthly analyses of the Metropolitan Waters;
and from their Reports and from a few samples
examined by myself, I find the Water supplied to
this Parish by the West Middlesex and Grand
Junction Works, has an average purity equal and
beyond most of the other sources of water supply
to the Metropolis.
