REPORT
TO THE VESTRY OF PADDINGTON.
Vestry Hall;
July 11, 1868.
Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present you the
usual Annual Report of the Sanitary and Public
Health Committee for the year ending Lady-Day,
1868. I may premise that of this time I have
been in office only 9 months.
Statistics.
The increase of population of this Parish
has been rapid during several years; caused not
only by excess of births over deaths, but from
the number of newly-built houses*: favouring a
constant immigration of people—westward.
* 1863—365 ; 1864—349 ; 1865—228 ; 1866—166;
1867—144 ; Total—1252.
