BOARD OF WORKS FOR THE LIMEHOUSE
DISTRICT.
Department of Works,
Offices,
White Horse Street,
Commercial Road East.
Gentlemen,
I beg to submit to you my Report upon the Works executed
in the District from Lady-day, 1874, to Lady-day, 1875.
SEWERS.
New Sewers have been constructed of the following lengths
and sizes, viz.:—
PIPE SEWERS.
780 feet 15-inch Pipe Sewer, constructed in Copenhagen Place,
Limehouse.
343 „ 12-inch „ „ Oak Lane, Limehouse.
704 „ 12-inch „ „ Cinnamon Street, and
249 „ 9-inch „ „ Prussom's Island,
281 „ 6-inch „ „ Wapping.
1,400 feet of Brick Sewers, and 26,000 feet of small Brick and
Pipe Sewers have been flushed by the men employed by the Board.
20 new Gullies have been constructed, 490 feet 6-inch- Pipe
to connect the same with Sewers.
15 Gullies have been altered and repaired.
21 new Gully Grates have been supplied.
1 new Flushing Box has been fixed.
3 Flushing Shafts cleansed and repaired.
3 new side entrance flaps supplied and fixed.
2 entrance shafts altered.
