There are ten public urinals with twenty-eight compartments in the district, viz.:-

The urinals are all lighted at night, and are provided with water
supply; they arc kept clean and flushed with water several times daily
by men employed by the Hoard. The water is supplied by meter, by
the East London Water Works Company. The urinal in Church
Street, Wapping, was erected, previous to 1856, by the parish
authorities.
IMPROVEMENTS.
The house at the corner of Tyte's Alley, Limehouse, was pulled
down by the Regent's Canal Company, and the line of frontage set
back, according to the agreement entered into between the Regent's
Canal Company and the late Commissioners of the Limehouse Pavements,
and the necessary alterations have been made to the foot and
carriageways.
The levels of New Gravel Lane, West Gardens and Elbow
Lane, Shadwell, have been altered, and the house at the west corner
of the West Gardens pulled down for the purpose of widening the
entrance to West Gardens, as provided in the agreement entered into
between the Board and the London Dock Company. The necessary
alterations have been made to the foot and carriageways, and to the
lamps and gullies at the expense of the London Dock Company.
