Highways a Locomotives Amendment Act, 1878.
The Board, (in November) received a letter from the
London County Council forwarding copies of their Bye-laws
under this Act and other Acts, relative to the licensing and
use of locomotives in the County of London, and requesting
that this Hoard would be good enough, if cases of infringement
of the Bye-laws came under their notice, to give information
thereof to the Council.
The Board directed their officers to report any such
cases of infringement, and that the request of the Council
be acceded to.
A complaint was made to the Board of the noise of

passed a resolution directing that a clause be inserted in all
contracts for their works prohibiting the use of any locomotive
or traction engine for the conveyance of materials to
the works.
