DepAt at Mole8Wobth Street.
The Board in their last Report referred to the then
recent acquisition of the piece of land near Molesworth-street,
as a depot for their general purposes, and for the special
purpose of farther improving the outlet of the Ravensbourne
in times of storm. The purchase was completed before
the end of the previous year, and the necessary steps have
been taken by the Board during the year for enclosing
and preparing the ground for the purposes for which it was
acquired.
Underground Rooms.
The Board received the usual reports from the District
Surveyors up to the end of the year 1891, with reference to
underground rooms, and from such reports it appeared that
there were no such rooms in this District occupied as dwellings.
This subject will in future be dealt with by the
Board's officers under the Public Health (London) Act, 1891,
the matter having been transferred to the Sanitary Authority
under that Act.
Fire Alarms and Fire Stations, etc.
The Board in November received a copy petition, from
residents at Sydenham and the District, presented to the
London County Council, praying for the establishment of a
Fire Station at Central Sydenham. The Memorialists asked
the Board to support the same. The matter was referred to
the "Works and General Purposes Committee, and they reported
thereon, expressing the opinion that the matter was
one of considerable importance to the District, and they
recommended that a letter be written to the Council in support
of the petition, and this course was adopted.
