These Sewers when completed will make an additional length
of 330 feet of 18 inch pipe, 1,752 feet of 15 inch pipe, and l,800
feet of 12 inch pipe to the Sewers already maintained by the
Board.

From the Table it will be seen that 21 flushing chambers or
tanks, with self-acting syphons, were constructed in the old sewers
during the year, and also 33 manholes and ventilators. The condition
oi the sewers is greatly improved by the flashing tanks;
and in constructing the manholes, defects in the older sewers have
been discovered and remedied, which otherwise would never have
been known until a total stoppage had occurred. It is a matter of
