There were no new streets taken to under the 106th section
of the Act.
UNEMPLOYED LABOUR.
During the year the Board determined to carry out, by the
unemployed labour in the District, as far as possible, the following
New Streets:—
Lewisham Parish.
Church Road, Hither Green Lane (2nd and 3rd parts), Park
Road, Kent House Road (1st part), and Kneller Road (2nd part).
Hamlet of Penge.
Padua Road.
They are now in progress, and will soon be completed.
Of course carrying out these works without a contractor creates
a great deal of additional labour. The Mansion House Fund
provided a sum of £75, to be expended in labour in carrying
out any improvement not contemplated by the Board, which
was spent in lowering some of the gradients ot Hither Green
Lane.
