DUSTING.
In Lewisham Parish the Dust and Ashes were collected by
horses and carts belonging to the Board.
During the year Lewisham Parish was divided into four
divisions for the disposal of dust and let to the following contractors:—Division
No. 1, Mr. Stumps, Loampit Yale, Lewisham;
Division No. 2, Mr. Phillips, Ladywell Farm; Divisions Nos. 3
and 4, Mr. Batchelor, Brickfields, Perry Rise.
The Hamlet of Penge was divided into two divisions and let
to the following contractors:—Division No. 1, to Messrs.
Featherby & Co., Elmer's End Lane; and Division No. 2, to
Messrs. Rhodes & Cooper, Kent House Lane. The Hamlet was
before divided into three, but Mr. Pawley at the expiration of his
contract would not renew it, and his division was divided between
the other two. Mr. Winnifrith supplied horses, carts and harness
