There is not sufficient ventilation either to the living
rooms or sleeping apartments.

Moved by Mr. R. Kemp seconded by Mr. Henley and resolved—That
the Reports of the Medical Officer of Health
be referred to the Surveyor of the Vestry to report thereon in
pursuance of the 6th section of the Artizans and Labourers'
Dwellings' Act, 1868.
XIII. The Clerk submitted notice of application for Music License
dated 10th August 1889, from Mr. F. N. Charrington for the
Great Assembly Hall, No. 31 Mile End Road.
Resolved—That it be received.
XIV. The Clerk read letter of 12th August ultimo from the Local
Government Board acknowledging receipt of communication
from the Vestry, on the subject of Vestrymen's qualification.
Moved by Mr. Upton, seconded, and resolved—That it be
received.
XV. The Clerk reported that during the vacation application had
been made for the use of the Vestry Hall for the Revising
Barrister in which to hold his Courts and that he had given
the usual permission on behalf of the Vestry.
Moved by Mr. Upton seconded by Mr. Coker and resolved
—That the action of the Clerk be approved.
XVI. The Clerk read a letter of the 25th inst. from the gangers of
the sweepers employed by the Vestry for an increase in their
wages.
Moved by Mr. Richardson seconded by Mr. Taylor—That
the application be acceded to by giving them a corresponding
increase in their wages to that already given to the sweepers.
The Clerk read a petition of the 25th inst., of the (26) carmen
employed by the Vestry, asking for an increase in their
wages.
Moved by Mr. Furness, seconded by Mr. Loftus, and resolved—That
the whole matter of the wages paid to the
workmen, be referred to the Dusting and Cleansing Committee
for consideration and report.
XVII. The motion of Mr. Richardson was by consent allowed to
stand over till the next meeting.
Moved by Mr. Richardson, and seconded by Mr. Browning
—That the Churchwardens and Overseers be asked to favor
the Vestry with a return of the amounts of commission paid
to the Rate Collectors for the year ended June, 1889, giving
the separate amounts of each quarter paid to each collector.
