Six new gullies have been constructed during the
year, making the number now in the Hamlet 669.
There were 314 houses connected with the sewers.
A contract was entered into by Mr. Parker, for the
performance of the sewerage works in Bedford Street
and Gloucester Street, which contract was not carried
out by him, but had to be performed by the Vestry.
This is the only case, for a number of years, in which
a person contracting has failed to perforin the works
required to be executed. The contract sum for this work
was 547l 4s.; The Vestry annulled Mr. Parker's contract,
and instructed Mr. Finch to complete the work.

instructed to prepare a statement of the sanitary condition
of the Hamlet; and as the present state of our
sewers and gullies is causing me much anxiety I beg to
refer you to it.

the houses paved. There are some few new streets
which have not yet been completed by the owners, but
in almost every instance you have directed the owners
