engaged in the work, more effectually under the Surveyor.
It is trusted that these modifications will at
the end of the current year be found to have secured
greater efficiency without any additional expense.
During the year the Vestry have taken steps under
their statutory powers for paving Floriston Street, Calverly
Street and Grafton Street, at the expense of the
owners of the property therein. The preliminary resolutions
for paving other streets in the like manner have
also been passed and will be put in force.
During the year several orders, affecting this Hamlet,
for renumbering streets and abolishing subsidiary
names have been made by the Metropolitan Board of Works.
