Distribution of Deaths.—The number and the causes
of the deaths in the several wards of the borough
are given in Table III.
Certification of the Causes of Death,—Of the 1,864
deaths registered, 1,722, or 92 per cent., were certified by
registered medical practitioners, and 142 by coroners
after inquest, no death being uncertified.
Deaths in Public Institutions—Fulham Infirmary.—
The deaths of 683 persons occurred in the Fulham
Infirmary, of whom 474 lived in Fulham and 209 in
other districts.
Western Fever Hospital.—In this institution there
were 49 deaths of residents in Fulham and 142 of
residents in other districts.
Deaths occurring outside the borough among persons
belonging thereto.—The deaths of Fulham residents
outside the borough numbered 382, and occurred in the
following places:-

Of the deaths registered, 875 or 47 per cent. took
place either in poor law institutions, in hospitals or in
public lunatic asylums, the percentages in the various
classes of institutions being as under;—
