I have again to call attention to the economy that might be effected
by turning out the large rest lamps at midnight, leaving one ordinary
burner alight until the usual hour of turning all the lamps out.

HOARDINGS.
Under 18 and 19 Vic., c. 120 of the Metropolitan Management Acts,
the Vestrv have power to compel builders to take out a license before repairable by
the Vestry, and on the 7th August, 1889, the Vestry Passed the following resolution:-
"That the Surveyor be instructed to make builders take out a license for
Hoardings, in all street, and in all cases of streets not repairable by the Vestry,
a fee of 5s. is to be changed."
As a result of the attendance of a deputation of builders at the Vestry, these
instructions were countermanded, and are not now carried out.
