The Vestry also granted a day's holiday and 5s. to
every weekly paid workman.
The deliberations of the Special Committee were presided
over by Mr. Samuel Smith, to whom the Vestry
accorded a special vote of thanks for the able and impartial
way in which he fulfilled the duties of Chairman.
