The water charges are partly by mileage and partly by
meter.
The Southwark and Vauxhall Water Co. supply
water at 8½d. per 1,000 gallons.
The Lambeth Water Co. at 8½d. per 1,000 gallons
in the low-level district; 1s. per 1,000 gallons in the midlevel;
and 1s. 3d. per 1,000 gallons in the high-level
district, near the Crystal Palace.
The Kent Water Co.'s charge of £300 is for about
13½ miles of Road = about £22 4s. 6d. per mile.
