COLLECTION OF SLOP.
The quantity of Slop collected from off the Public
Roads was:—
Road Slop 31,854½ loads
Gulley Slop 3,206½ „
Total 35,061
(In 1890-91 the quantity was 34 366 loads.)
BARGING AWAY SLOP AND ROAD REFUSE.
This work has been carried out under contract; the
quantity removed by barge being 22,674¼ cart-loads, or
263 barge loads.
The cost during the year has been at the rate of 2s. 3d.
per cart-load, delivered direct into barges.
SNOW REMOVAL.
During the past winter frequent severe snowstorms
visited the Metropolis, and the resources of this Vestry
and the Parish generally were largely taxed to rid the
Parish of the very heavy accumulations of snow, which, for
a time, impeded locomotion. Extra men were taken on from
the ranks of the unemployed to combat this visitation.
