Magistrate, the House at the time of application being
untenantable, and all but demolished.
Steps are now being taken to treat with the several
parties interested in accordance with the foregoing
resolution.
Footpath Diversion, East Dulwich Grove. A
Diversion of a small and temporary character was made in
the pathway (for a few yards only) at the East Dulwich
Grove end of the public path which crosses the fields from
Calton Road next Dulwich Village to East Dulwich Grove
near Townley Road to allow of a portion of Land being
taken in to enclose the site of the new Presbyterian
Church, no part of the actual Building however being on
the site of the path in question. This is a temporary
diversion, as, when Calton Road, already sanctioned, is
continued from its present termination into East Dulwich
Grove, the whole length of this footpath will be required
to be diverted under Order of the Magistrate in the usual
way affecting Public Footpaths and Thoroughfares.
Dulwich Park, Proposed Road. On the recommendation
of the General Purposes Committee the Vestry,
011 the 18th June last, resolved that an application be made
to the Estates Governors of Alleyns College to construct a
direct carriage road from opposite "The Plough Inn," Lordship
Lane, to the Court Lane entrance of Dulwich Park, a
reply was received on their behalf from Mr. Charles Barry,
Architect to the Governors, acknowledging the advantages
which such a communication would be to the public, but
that the Governors found several practical difficulties
