The Overseers, in accordance with the Statute, caused
notices to be issued to all the Ratepayers that the Committee
would hear the objections of those who felt themselves
aggrieved by reason of any unfairness or incorrectness in
the Valuation List.

The School of Fine Art to be open to all boys and girls belonging to Dulwich College, Alleyn's School, James Allen's Girls' School, or to any other school endowed under the Charity. The Governors may also admit other persons, but pupils from any of those schools may be admited free or at a lower charge.sons as pupils. I he Secretary of the South London Fine Art Gallery, Peckham E??? states that this Gallery has no endowment whatever at present. It is ??? vided however, by Schedule V., Part II., of the Central Scheme, under ??? City Parochial Charities Act, 1891, that the governing body have dis??? tionary power to make the following payment:—"For the maintenance the South London Art Gallery, an annual sum not exceeding £300."11 Acts, Schemes, &c., quoted above, can be seen by Members of the in the Vestry Library. Your Committee, in order to deal with such a large
number of Objections held 17 meetings, meeting on many
occasions from 9 a.m to 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and are
glad to report that having heard the Objections and viewed
many of the properties, the final adjudication by them on
the respective objections appeared to give satisfaction to
the great majority of the appellants, there only having been
three Appeals to the General Assessment Sessions.
Your Committee found that in the majority of cases it
was necessary to reduce the Assessments, the value of
property having decreased.

the Clerk to attend a Conference of representatives of the
