YORK PAVING—General Works.
The general repairs of the flagged footways of the
parish, including those disturbed by drainage, gas and water
trenches, and by hoardings for building purposes, have been
executed by the masons and labourers employed by the
Vestry ; the material used in this work is supplied by the
Vestry contractors; the quantity so used for these purposes,
has approximately been as follows:—
York paving 23,081 feet super.
Kerb 2,061 feet lineal.
The above quantities include the re-paving of
Toulon Street, both sides (including Channelling)
with Old Stone from the Vestry Stock in Depot.
Queen's Road, Peckham, from Railway Station to
Pomeroy Street—with new 3-in. York Paving, under the
General Contract, by Messrs. Mowlem & Co.
TAR PAVED FOOTPATHS.
All incidental and general repairs to tar paved footpaths
are carried out by men employed by the Vestry.
They include the trenches opened by the various Gas and
Water Companies, Builders, and other parties, the cost of
which work is charged to them respectively. The more
important repairs are carried out under a special contract.
The quantity of such work during the past year has
been as under:
