Total number of Hydrants and Waterposts, 67.
The above cost of watering includes payment partly
by mileage and partly by meter. The charge in future
by the Southwark and Vauxhall and Lambeth Water
Companies will be solely by meter, thus—
The Southwark and Vauxhall Water Co. to supply
water at 8½d. per 1,000 gallons.
The Lambeth Water Co. at 8½d. per 1,000 gallons in
the lower district; 1s. per 1,000 gallons in the
medium district; and 1s. 3d. per 1,000 gallons in the
high service district, near the Crystal Palace.
The Kent Water Co. to be paid, as arranged, for the
water for 42/3 miles of roads on their district supply,
the sum of £135.
SLOPPING, WATERING, &c.
This work has been carried out, as heretofore, by the
Vestry plant, &c., which has averaged as follows:—
