The working cost of the "Slopping and Watering
Department" includes not only the wages of
the Drivers, Horse Keepers, &c., but also the
purchase of new vans, watering and slop carts,
and other necessary additions to the plant, and
the repairs of the same, also all wheelwright's work,
painting, &c., and the cost of water for Road
Watering purposes, repairs to pumps, hydrants, &c.
It also includes the cost of the haulage of road
materials on to the roads, which work is performed
by the Vestry plant, and this latter work therefore
ia a reduction upon the total cost charged to the
Slopping and Watering department.
