Saving as
compared
with former
system of
Collection,
The above statement shews that the nett cost of
the dust collection and removal for the year 1880.81,
was £2,501. This compared with the cost before the
alteration of the system, shews a saving of about
£2,000 per annum.
GULLY CLEANSING.
The number of Gullies cleansed by the Vestry
workmen within the Parish during the past year
was 5,769
Loads of soil removed therefrom - 1,923
Mem.— This is an increase of about 400 loads over that of
the previous year, which is to be accounted for
greatly by the increase in the number and length
of new roads, but especially through the more
efficient and frequent sweeping of the main roads
by the roller horse-brooms.
