should be drawn for the exact amount of the accounts,
and payable to the parties themselves.
4th.—We have surcharged accounts amounting
to about £200, in consequence of their not being
verified by the Committee.
It has also come under our notice that one of the
Clerks employed in the Accountant's Office has
absconded, leaving defalcations to the amount of
£98 0s. 6d. A bond covering the full amount has
been produced to us, and we are informed that
proceedings are pending for the recovery of the
same.
The movement for adopting the "Free Libraries
Act" in this Parish has created an expenditure of
£102 12s. 7d. out of the year's rates.
We may add that the Clerks in the several
Departments of the Vestry have rendered us every
assistance during the audit.
