This is a matter of much solicitude for the Slop Shoots.

counteract this, arrangement has been made with the
owner of the Gravel Pit at Maismore Square,
Peckham, for the use of that site, at an annual rent of
£200. Nevertheless, this is a question of increasing
anxiety to your Committee, and one which requires
to be seriously entertained in the early future.
Your Committee confidently repeat the observations
made in their Report for the year 1876-7, that
the Vestry system now in operation, has this special
advantage "that the work is more efficiently done,
"and whether the cost be more or less no payment
"has to be made except for work actually executed."
