It will be seen that the epidemic was generally
most severe in the first and second quarters of the
year, and that it diminished rapidly in the third
and fourth quarters. In our own parish the
epidemic was most severe in the second quarter, but
it continued severe in St. George's during the third
and fourth quarters. There were no deaths from
the disease in Dulwich, 23 in Camberwell, 44 in
Peckham, and 86 in St. George's. The deaths were
scattered thinly over the greater portion of the
parish (exclusive of Dulwich), but there were
several localities in which the deaths were
especially numerous, and in which the disease prevailed
with great intensity. These were some of
