SHOOTS.
The question of the cost of shoots is an extremely difficult one.
I recently visited all the shoots within a reasonable distance of
the Parish as follows:—
Shoot on Homerton Road, near Temple Mills Bridge.
(Proprietor: Larter). Crane, Stevens, Porter and others
shoot there.
Shoot at Brickfields at Temple Mills. (Proprietor : Rogers)
will take dust and slop at 9d. per waggon load, but will
not enter into a contract for a term. There is room here
to shoot for years.
Shoot on road between Temple Mills and Stratford, closed,
but, perhaps, to be re-opened. Proprietor: Mansfield, of
Hanford Bridge, Forest Lane.
Shoot at Carpenter's Road, Stratford. The property of the
Mile End Vestry.
Shoot at "Wharton Road, Stratford. The property of Mr.
Lambeth. Dry rubbish only received at 3d. per load.
Shoot at Marsh Gate Lane, Stratford. Property of the
Midland Railway Company. Will be open only for a
month or two. Take dry rubbish or dust at 3d. per load.
I have interviewed the Goods Manager of the Great Eastern
Railway, and he has offered to receive the house refuse at
Devonshire Street Goods Station, and dispose of same (the Vestry
loading into the Railway trucks), at 1s. 9d. per ton.
