Paving, the old paving being re-used as far as practicable.
The cost amounted to £143 0s. 1d.
Palmer's
Hood.
In consequence of the difficulty and expense of
maintaining Palmer's Road, as a macadam road, in a
satisfactory and sanitary condition, the Vestry resolved
to pave it with 3x7 pitchings on concrete, and tho
work was carried out at a oost of £612 13s. 3d.
Cooper's
Gardens.
The wide part of Coopers Gardens (Gascoyne Place
end) has been paved with concrete paving by the Patent
Victoria Stone Company at a cost of £95 13s. 2d.
Gibraltar
Walk.
The carriageway of Gibraltar walk, between Ducal
Street and Gosset Street, has been paved with 3 x 5
pitchings on concrete, at a cost of £173 13s.
Paradise
Row.
The carriageway of Paradise Row has been paved
with 4x5 pitchings at a cost of £140 10s. 9d.
Abbey
Street.
The footway on the east side of Abbey Street,
between Elliot Row and Derbyshire Street, has been
paved with Victoria Paving, at a cost of £19 9s.
Winchester
Street.
The footway on the south side of Winchester Street,
in front of the new block of Artizans' Dwellings,
belonging to the Great Eastern Railway Company, has
been paved with Victoria Paving, at a cost of £31
18s. 3d.
Whitechapel
Road.
The carriageway on the north side, between the
tramway rail and the kerb, was re-laid at a cost of
£135 10s. 10d.
Church
Street.
In consequence of the settlement of the trench over
the middle level sewer in Church Street, it became
necessary to re-lay a part of the carriageway, at a cost
of £16 6s. 3d.
