gave evidence on behalf of the Vestry at the enquiry.
In preparing this evidence it became neoessary to obtain
an accurate record of the length, streets, etc., in the
Parish, and as no such information appeared to be in
existence the streets were measured. As the information
thus obtained may be of considerable service in the
future, and in order to preserve it, I have printed it as
an appendix to this report.
Watch-house.
The old watch-house was repaired, painted, &c., at a
cost of £28 5s.
Dust
Removal.
The Vestry having resolved to purchase 6000 more
dust pails, a specification and form of tender was
prepared, and an advertisement inserted in Iron.
The result was that thirty tenders were receivod; tho
highest being £180 per 1000, and the lowest (that of
Messrs. Peijus & Co.), £95 16s. 8d. per 1000. Messrs.
Peijus' tender was accepted by the Vestry.
