The method of disinfection which the Council advises is as
follows:
The cushions and as much of the internal fittings as are moveable
should be taken out of the cab and put in a disinfecting chamber ;
all exposed woodwork inside the cab should be washed with carbolic
acid soap, and carbolized oil should be smeared over the
metal work with a view of disinfecting and protecting it from
the action of chlorine gas, which should be evolved inside the cab,
and the cab shut up and kept exposed to the fumes for one hour.
It is recommended that the certificate given to the cabdriver should
be in the following form :
I hereby certify that the cab No. driven by
the number of whose badge is
having been used to convey a case of from
to the Hospital
has this day been disinfected by me after the manner prescribed by the
Medical Officer of Health.
