National Cervical Cytology Recall Scheme
The National scheme commenced on 1st January 1972, for the recall for
re-examination of women whose test five years previously had proved negative.
However, as the national type of forms were not in use at Hackney Hospital
Pathology Department it was necessary to Institute a local scheme to run in
conjunction with the national scheme. Negotiations with the Inner London
Local Medical Committee were successfully completed and arrangements were
well under way at the end of the year for the commencement of the local scheme.
