This display stand, designed by members of the Public Health Department staff, for the Council's Clean Food Campaign, has also been used for exhibition
purposes. The twelve photographs serve to illustrate the many ways in which contamination may be spread to food supplies, and the printed panels below
explain the methods of avoiding infection. Twelve plaster hands, set into the front of the stand, carry petri dishes containing representations in colour
of bacteria of various types. These are illuminated from below and have proved to be an effective and interesting attraction.
